launching

Tomorrow, or rather later today, we'll be taking off, leaving the sort of snowy weather behind (we assume), aiming for Oakland and points south. We're also leaving some incredible friends, a very beloved pussy cat, and a wonderful house-sitter (and, incidentally, a far, far cleaner house than it has ever been). I am already missing them all, but excited too. It's been a long time since we had an adventure, at least one we planned on having. Also, I have never lived more than six weeks anywhere but the west coast of this continent, so that will be very new. I just hope everything essential will fit in the car!
